The tree
Today I saw a tree, and it impressed me
Because it was being such a magnificent tree
It was not a hundred feet tall or ten meters wide
It did not have flowers to decorate it's hide
It had its arm outstretched in loving thanks
For a creator who took its time
With every leaf, every branch and every vine
It did not look up at those trees standing big and tall
It did not look down at those different and small
It did not shout, hey look at me, I am a tree
It just stood tall and held its head proudly.
It said I came to earth to be a tree
And I will do that magnificently
Are you being a human to the best of your ability?
Are you living your purpose?
Are you fulfilling your destiny?
Be like a tree, not swayed by the wind blowing to and fro
Or carried away by pride and ego.
Don’t ask, why can’t I be like them or why do they copy me.
Just be a human to the best of your ability
Yes, today, I saw a tree
And I knew it was being a tree, magnificently.
